Paris has always been a one-of-a-kind destination, but MMGY Grifco’s recent press trip with four leading MICE journalists unveiled a new insight into the city’s events landscape. Hosted by the industry-leading H4 Hotel Wyndham Paris Pleyel Resort, this three-day itinerary was a masterful blend of world-class MICE facilities, Olympic legacy, and authentic Parisian culture.
The journey began in true European style with an early morning Eurostar departure from London St Pancras, setting the tone with effortless international access. Upon arrival at Paris Gare du Nord, we were quickly transferred to H4 Hotel Wyndham Paris Pleyel Resort, where we embarked on a comprehensive tour, led by Marketing Communication Manager, Agathe DeTrogoff. The journalists were able to see first-hand the exceptional capacity and cutting-edge design of the 40-floor, 697-room hotel with its 10,000 sqm dedicated conference centre.
As the sun began to set, the true marvel of the hotel was revealed: France’s highest pool. The group enjoyed a sunset swim before heading to the 40th-floor Sky Bar, The Stage, for drinks with a dazzling panoramic view of Paris. Dinner at the hotel’s Le Pleyel Restaurant provided a perfect close to a day focused on unparalleled hospitality and space.
Day two proved this location is about more than just a magnificent hotel, offering proximity to the vibrant, developing area of Saint-Denis and the heart of Olympic infrastructure. Led by the knowledgeable Emmanuel Blum from Agence d’attractivité de Plaine Commune, our morning began with a cultural immersion at the famous Saint Ouen Flea Market, a brilliant incentive option for groups looking for a break from formal meetings.
After lunch and a tour at Paname Brewery, we toured the Cité du Cinéma and the Centre Aquatique Olympique. These world-class venues, connected by the new Pleyel urban overpass, highlight the area’s readiness for major international events. The evening was spent at the majestic St Denis Basilica and Fabrique de la Flèche, showcasing a compelling historical and architectural experience minutes from the hotel. The day concluded with drinks and dinner at O’Grand Breton in Saint Denis, a true experience of the local gastronomic scene.
The final morning provided a perfect incentive experience before departure: an authentic croissant-making class at Maison Fleuret in central Paris. The hands-on activity, followed by an afternoon exploring the sights of the city, demonstrated the wide array of memorable team-building and culinary options available for MICE groups. A walk up to Montmartre rounded off our Parisian experience, and we shortly packed up our things and headed back to Gare du Nord.
In the end, H4 Hotel Wyndham Paris Pleyel Resort successfully showcased itself to be a powerful contender for large-scale MICE events in Paris. With its expansive, technologically-advanced conference facilities, unique Sky Bar and pool, and its ideal location with seamless access to both Olympic venues and authentic Parisian culture, this property has truly raised the bar for events in the City of Light.
