Q: What’s better than Breakfast at Tiffany’s? A: Breakfast at The Ritz! Grifco was very excited yesterday morning to organise a Buck’s Fizz breakfast in the Marie Antoinette Room at The Ritz to celebrate The Gainsborough Bath Spa joining The Leading Hotels of the World.
After a Grifco welcome from Claire Griffin, Dato’ Mark Yeoh, the Executive Director of YTL Hotels, gave a speech introducing the property as the newest edition to the YTL Hotels portfolio and the company’s first Classic Hotel in the UK, due to open in Spring 2014.
Amongst the beautiful Versailles style décor, the signing ceremony took place between Collin Skellett, Executive Chairman of Wessex Water & Chairman of The Gainsborough Hotel Company and Deniz Omurgonulsen, the Vice President of Membership at the Leading Hotels of the World.
Whilst tucking into croissants and raspberry muffins, the press later enjoyed a detailed presentation from Anthony Champalimaud, the Vice President of YTL Hotels, where they learnt of the hotels’ connection to Bath itself as the Spa was revealed as the only hotel in the UK with direct access to natural thermal waters.
As breakfast came to an end we went away extremely happy and thrilled to be working with such an incredible spa hotel and, as Marie Antoinette would have wanted, returned to the office very full of cake!
